About Our Chef
Chef Cale Falk
Cale Falk brings a lifelong passion for food and cooking to his current position as executive chef at The Purple Palm Restaurant at Colony Palms Hotel in Palm Springs, CA. In the last 18 years Cale has worked in private country clubs, social dining clubs, four and five star resorts. He became the head chef at Casa Laguna Inn, a farm to table restaurant where he resided for two years. While there he earned the 2008 Gold Medal for the “Incredible Breakfast Cook Off of North America” in Williamsburg, Virginia. All while being the Sous Chef at the prestigious waterfront Surf and Sands Resort in Laguna Beach, California where he spent five years working under two of Orange County’s culinary masters, Lewis Butler, recipient of the 2006 Orange County Culinary Master Winner as well as 2010 Best New Chef, Jeff Armstrong.
Taking a change of scenery from the beach to the desert, Cale was hired on as executive sous chef for the IW Club at the Indian Wells Golf Resort and soon on was promoted to executive chef for the newly renovated and rebranded VUE Restaurant at the Indian Wells Golf Resort. Cale was awarded the “2013 Hospitality Award” by Palm Springs Life and achieved the “2015 Dirona Award”
Today Chef Cale is excited to be a part of Purple Palm at the Colony Palms Hotel. His repertoire has combined a unique brand of eclectic cuisine that incorporates local ingredients. Bringing original presentations that focus on bold fundamental flavors and using seasonal local suppliers. He brings this and much more exciting culinary adventures to the Colony Palms Hotel food and beverage team with a passion and joy of sharing his cooking experiences with everyone around him.
